More Francesca Woodman @ the MoMa

"i could no longer play, i could not play by instinct .."

"and i had forgotten how to read music .."

"then at one point i did not need to translate the notes; they went directly to my hands ."

diazotypes

I was lucky enough to take some photos at the Francesca Woodman show, up at the MoMa, which is showing until February (if you haven't been, it's a must see). I was so inspired by her work, I wanted to share a few more of the digital photos I took. I have been back to the MoMa twice just to see her work again, and I plan on going back a few more times
before it comes down .

i took these with my canon G11

MoMa

installation by Jim Campbell called, "exploded views"

Francesca Woodman:

The diazotype process, a technique most often used for the production of architectural blueprints. Woodman exposed sheets of light-sensitive paper using negatives constructed from transparent tissue paper and acetate, or by projecting imagery with a slide projector. The paper was then developed by a commercial blueprint processor. The relatively weak light sensitivity of the materials necessitated long exposures-sometimes as long as overnight-and as a result the pictures are quite soft and have almost a painterly feel to them.
