I took this photo of my dear friend, Joe, freshman year of high school; it was the photo I used for the first assignment in photography - the "freeze project" .
I sent the photo into 'Jones Soda Co.' on a whim, and it ended up getting chosen as a photo for some selected labels. I wasn't notified about winning, in fact a fellow classmate found a bottle in Perry's Deli, across from the high school and found me at school; a week later my mom found four at a random liquor store in san francisco, so who knows how many are out there.Today marks one year that we lost Joe, the kindest of all old souls, I think about him today, and always . .
